A 78-year-old Greek Cypriot woman tragically died while swimming in the sea off Geroskipou on the morning of Wednesday, July 10.
According to reports, fellow bathers found the woman unconscious and floating in the water. Emergency services were immediately called, and an ambulance rushed her to the city hospital. Despite the prompt response, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Preliminary indications suggest her death may be due to natural causes. However, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The local authorities have yet to release the woman's identity.
