Starting Monday, July 1, 2024, the Cyprus Ministry of Interior will mandate the electronic submission and examination of applications for building permits, following the Roads and Buildings Regulation Law.
In a statement, the Ministry highlighted the move as part of the Local Government Reform aimed at simplifying and accelerating the development licensing process. All types of development applications, along with corresponding fee payments, will be processed through the new "IUPODAMOS" system.
"This transfer of development licensing responsibilities to the five newly established Provincial Development Agencies marks a significant milestone in both development licensing and the digital transition of our services," the Ministry stated. The objectives include improving service for planners and investors, enhancing convenience for citizens, reducing bureaucracy, and minimizing delays in permit issuance.
Additionally, from Monday, July 1, 2024, applications for planning permits will also be submitted and processed exclusively through the "IPPODAMOS" system.
