According to the decision of the five-member committee, within the framework of the Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit 2023, the competition for emerging businesses, DAAS-AI, which took place a short while ago at the Municipal Theater of Nicosia, had a clear winner, while two more participants with exceptional prospects were also awarded half of the monetary prize.

The unequivocal winner, according to the Committee, was the Israeli startup "blings," which specializes in producing and distributing AI-enhanced video content using MP5 technology.

By employing advanced artificial intelligence, "blings" operates in the realm of producing personalized and interactive MP5-type videos, which are broadcast in real-time and can serve various auxiliary functions in business activities.

However, based on the Committee's rationale, because the Israeli "blings" has already secured an investment of approximately $4 million and has matured and established itself as a business idea, it was decided that today's competition's monetary prize be awarded to two other participants who are still in their early stages but exhibit notable potential.

Specifically, the Cypriot startup "Catbrain," specializing in cognitive rehabilitation services, and the also Cypriot startup "Mammocheck," specializing in innovative methods for breast cancer prevention, were recognized by the judging panel, each receiving a prize of 5,000 euros.

The DAAS-AI invited emerging businesses and research teams that can demonstrate or work in the field of AI with innovative ideas focused on the areas of Tourism, Media, or Learning/Education. These initiatives should aim to transition their work from the laboratory to the market, having reached a stage where they can attract individuals and venture capital, with the goal of getting closer to commercialization.

The Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit introduced the Innovation Platform for emerging businesses, "Alpha Stage," where startups and innovation teams could participate in the Digital Agenda Alpha Stage AI (DAAS-AI) AI competition. TechIsland presents the "Alpha Stage."
