Fall weather makes a move but still shy

Mixed weather in Cyprus through workweek, temperatures drop Saturday ahead of cold and wet weekend

Newsroom

Alternating weather systems are affecting Cyprus following last week’s transitional weather, with suspicious clouds sticking around until Friday while full-fledged unsettled conditions are expected through the weekend.

Fair skies continue on Wednesday afternoon with low chances of rain mainly in the mountains during a weak high pressure system that brought sunny temperatures up to low 30’s around the capital.

Evening weather will be mostly clear but skies will be punctuated with increasing clouds over local areas. Temperature lows will drop to 16 degrees Celsius inland, 18 in coastal regions, while it will be 11 high up in the mountains.

Thursday skies will start off mostly clear while conditions after noon will include increasing clouds with showers inland as well as in the mountains.

No change is expected Friday, which is expected to start off mostly clear and gradually become partly cloudy and at times cloudy with showers and possible thunderstorms also in the forecast.

Saturday skies will be partly cloudy and once again gradually become cloudy, with high chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms as temperatures drop below normal averages for this time of the year.

Sunday will be cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms throughout the day.
