You’ve made it to Friday. The weather, however, seems a bit confused about what season it is.
A weak low-pressure system arrived last night, and from midday today, it’s inviting some light dust to the party. We essentially have a "mud rain" situation on our hands, paired with temperatures that feel more like April than February. It’s a messy, warm start to the weekend.
Today will be a bit moody. Expect mainly cloudy skies for a good chunk of the day, bringing local rain and the odd isolated thunderstorm. The advice remains the same: do not wash your car. It’s a trap.
However, if you step outside, you’ll notice it’s strangely warm.
- West & North Coasts: You are hitting a balmy 21°C. That is practically t-shirt weather.
- South & East Coasts: A pleasant 19°C.
- Inland: Reaching 18°C.
- Mountains: Even Troodos is sitting at 12°C, so don't expect much fresh snow today.
The winds will be blowing from the northeast to southeast. They’ll be moderate generally, but if you are on the western or northern coasts this morning, expect strong gusts (5 Beaufort) and some choppy seas before things calm down later.
Tonight, the drama fades, but the dampness lingers. It will remain partly cloudy with just a chance of isolated rain. The winds will drop to a gentle breeze, though the sea might stay a bit rough on the windward sides.
The weekend outlook
Saturday (tomorrow): A "bit of everything" day. We will see periods of sunshine alternating with clouds and the occasional isolated shower. Not a washout, but not a beach day either.
Sunday & Monday: The trend continues with a mix of sun and clouds.
Temps will rise slightly inland and in the mountains, keeping us well above the seasonal average. We are staying firmly in the "Spring Fake-Out" zone.
