A Cypriot applicant has been admitted to the United States Naval Academy for the first time, according to President Nikos Christodoulides.
The president shared that he received the information from the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, describing the development as an important moment for the country. The acceptance marks a new step in the evolving relationship between the Republic of Cyprus and the United States.
Christodoulides said the achievement reflects closer ties between the two nations, particularly in areas related to security and defense. He added that cooperation is not limited to government institutions, but also extends to preparing future leaders through opportunities such as this.
