A 27-year-old food distributor was assaulted in the early hours of Tuesday while waiting at a traffic light in Limassol, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. local time, when a vehicle carrying four assailants pulled up beside the man. According to police, the suspects sprayed him with an unidentified substance before exiting their car and attacking him.
The attackers reportedly struck the man repeatedly across his body and head.
The four suspects fled the scene, leaving the victim injured. He was later taken to a hospital, where he was treated for head and body injuries.
The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation into the assault.
