A new wildfire has broken out near the Ayios Sylas industrial area in Limassol, prompting an immediate response from firefighting crews.

According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, three fully staffed fire engines from Limassol fire stations were dispatched to the scene, along with four firefighting aircraft.

One fire engine from the Forestry Department and two more from the British Bases have also been deployed to assist.

Authorities said a nearby livestock facility and an isolated residence were successfully protected. However, strong winds in the area continue to cause flare-ups.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
