Police have arrested four people in connection with an alleged operation that provided forged entry permits to foreign nationals. The case involves suspected conspiracy, document forgery, use of fake documents, impersonation, and assisting individuals from non-EU countries to enter the Republic illegally.
The investigation began on April 24, 2026, after a 35-year-old man arrived at Larnaca Airport and presented a falsified entry permit during passport control. Authorities later confirmed his real identity and discovered he was listed in Interpol’s database as a prohibited migrant.
According to evidence gathered so far, the man had been working with others since September 2025 to obtain the fake permit. Investigators say he paid a total of €6,000 to two men, aged 51 and 41, with the arrangement handled through a 40-year-old woman who acted as an intermediary.
Police secured arrest warrants for all four suspects, who are now in custody as the investigation continues. The case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation Department in Larnaca.
