Four new coronavirus cases detected in Cyprus

Two involved asymptomatic locals with a recent history of travel to the Greek island of Mykonos

Four new coronavirus cases were announced on Friday when 1,810 tests were conducted to check samples for the virus. The cases brought the total detected in the Republic of Cyprus to 1,502.

Three involved people who got tested privately, two of which are asymptomatic locals with a recent history of travel to Mykonos. The third, also a local, got tested after developing symptoms one week ago.

The fourth new case involves a Syrian woman refugee who arrived in Cyprus on Thursday night.

The Famagusta general hospital is treating five coronavirus patients in general wards, while two coronavirus patients are receiving intensive care at the Nicosia general hospital.
