Nicosia has secured a prestigious spot in the European Cities and Regions of the Future 2025 rankings by fDi Intelligence, reaffirming its status as an emerging center for innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship.
Mayor Charalambos Prountzos welcomed the recognition, calling it "the culmination of our efforts to create a city that promotes innovation, attracts investments, and offers a high quality of life to residents and visitors alike."
The Cypriot capital stood alongside renowned European cities like Oxford, Linz, and Geneva. It achieved 2nd place in the Best Small European Cities for Human Capital and Lifestyle and 10th place in the FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) Strategy category—a testament to its growing appeal for global investors and talent.
The Municipality of Nicosia has actively pursued strategic initiatives to foster research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while also driving urban regeneration projects, smart city development, and participation in European funding programs.
The fDi Intelligence rankings evaluate cities based on factors such as economic dynamism, accessibility, human capital, and business-friendly strategies. With this latest achievement, Nicosia is proving that it is no longer just a historic capital—it is a city of the future.
