The municipality of Geroskipou has announced a €360,000 renovation project for its Olympic swimming pool, located within the Geroskipou Sports Centre. The project, announced on Friday, February 7th, will be partly funded by the Cyprus Olympic Association (KOA).
The renovation will include the removal of existing metal structures and their replacement with new concrete walls. The pool’s cover and perimeter will also be replaced. The project will address the current issue of stagnant water and upgrade all technical systems.
The Geroskipou Olympic Swimming Pool was constructed in 2005 and is part of the Geroskipou Sports Centre, which is located 3km from Paphos harbour. The sports centre features a 50m outdoor pool with 10 lanes, a gym, and other sports facilities. The pool is equipped with floodlights for evening training and has a dedicated parking area.
Following the renovation, the upgraded facility will be available for athletes from across Cyprus, providing an improved training environment.
