Government procures 32 electric vehicles to reduce emissions

Charging infrastructure to be established as electric vehicles are deployed to departments

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works has announced that, for the purpose of promoting clean road transport vehicles and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants in the atmosphere, it has received and delivered 32 electric vehicles to Departments and Services of the Public Sector to meet their needs.

According to the relevant announcement, the tender was issued by the Department of Electromechanical Services through an open bidding process, with a total procurement cost of €1,077,664 including VAT.

Finally, it is noted that the Department of Electromechanical Services is proceeding with the installation of suitable charging points at the Departments and Services where the electric vehicles will be delivered.
