Greece’s Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, is in Cyprus on Wednesday for a series of high-level meetings, including talks with President Nikos Christodoulides and his Cypriot counterpart, Vasilis Palmas.

Dendias’ visit comes at the invitation of Palmas, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening defense cooperation, regional security, and ongoing bilateral relations between Greece and Cyprus.

According to Defense Ministry spokesperson Christos Pieris, the visit underscores the close defense ties between the two nations, particularly in light of broader regional developments.

Dendias will first meet with Palmas for official talks before the two ministers make statements to the press. Later, he will be received at the Presidential Palace by Christodoulides for further discussions.

The visit highlights the ongoing coordination between Athens and Nicosia on defense and security matters, with both countries maintaining a strategic partnership amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region.
