Newsroom

Authorities are investigating a report of gunfire directed at the vehicle of one of the four individuals charged in connection with the murder of Thanasis Kalogeropoulos, which occurred on October 30th in Limassol.

According to sources, the suspect's vehicle was parked outside his residence in the Larnaca province, specifically in Oroklini, when the shots were fired. The vehicle sustained multiple gunshot wounds, believed to have been caused by gunfire from a firearm. The incident appears to have occurred early Tuesday morning (20/02), with police present at the scene for investigations, including determining the exact number of shots fired.

It is worth noting that the trial for the murder is expected to resume on March 14th, as lawyers representing the four suspects, aged 44, 41, 22, and 21, requested a postponement, citing incomplete access to all the evidence.

The four accused remain in custody at the Central Prisons, facing common charges, with premeditated murder being the most serious among them. Additionally, the 22-year-old is also charged with complicity after the fact of murder.

The 41-year-old and the 21-year-old are alleged to be the perpetrators of Kalogeropoulos' murder, while the 44-year-old is the owner of an estate in Skarinou, believed to be where the plan to murder the 55-year-old was organized.
