Patients in Cyprus seeking treatment at Hadassah in Jerusalem will have a new point of contact from Nov. 21, 2026, with referrals handled exclusively through Hadassah Medical Center in Limassol, according to an announcement by the center.
For patients weighing up treatment abroad, the change comes with a commitment on costs: Hadassah Cyprus says it will not add a referral fee, commission, or markup to the medical bill issued by Hadassah Israel.
Patients referred through the Limassol center will receive an official price quotation from Hadassah Israel and have the option of paying Hadassah directly.
Any medical care provided separately in Cyprus, before or after treatment in Israel, will be clearly identified and billed separately. That means the no-markup commitment applies to the Israeli treatment bill, rather than making all related care in Cyprus free.
The announcement follows Hadassah Medical Organization’s decision to end its patient-referral partnership with IMER/Health Plus, effective Nov. 21. The Limassol center thanked the company for its work helping Cypriot patients access care in Jerusalem over the years.
With Hadassah now operating directly in Cyprus, the center said patients can arrange second medical opinions, consultations with specialists, and treatment in Jerusalem through its local team.
For someone facing a difficult diagnosis, having a contact here could make the process of seeking care abroad easier to navigate—from arranging a medical assessment to understanding the proposed treatment and its price.
The center also suggested that the previous referral model may have involved additional charges that increased patients’ overall costs. That is Hadassah Cyprus’s account; the announcement does not establish what individual patients were charged or include a response from IMER/Health Plus.
Hadassah Cyprus says its aim is to offer a coordinated route between Cyprus and Jerusalem, with clear pricing and continuity of care.
Patients can already contact the Limassol center for a second opinion, medical assessment, or help coordinating treatment at Hadassah in Jerusalem.
