The Health Ministry announced 382 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, raising total cases detected so far to 40,726.
A total of 38,685 tests were conducted, marking a positivity rate of 0.99%.
No fatalities were reported on Wednesday, leaving the death toll steady at 241.
103 of the new cases were primary contacts, two were airport arrivals, 59 were people who took the initiative to get tested, seven were tested at a general hospital, while eight were tested via rapid test at private labs.
Among new cases, 203 involved people who tested positive to a rapid test. A majority of 108 were detected in Limassol after 9,914 tests were conducted (positivity rate of 1.09%), followed by Nicosia where 42 people tested positive after 11,321 tests (0.37%), while 24 tested positive in Larnaca (0.54%), seven in Paphos (0.23%), and 11 in Famagusta (0.70%). Three more were detected at a Nicosia nursing home, four more at the Ipsonas industrial area, while an additional four were detected among school staff or students.
Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 218 coronavirus patients, of which 44 are in critical condition.
66 patients are in the Famagusta general hospital, four of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is also treating 61 patients, 25 of which are in the ICU. 64 more coronavirus patients are at the Limassol general hospital where eight are in the ICU, while seven are at the Makarios hospital in Nicosia.
