The Health Ministry on Friday announced one coronavirus fatality and 111 new cases, raising the death toll to 229 and total cases detected so far to 33,046.
The fatality involved a 75-year-old woman who suffered from underlying health conditions.
The new cases emerged after 37,325 tests were conducted. Among new cases, 42 involved people who tested positive to a rapid test.
The remaining 48 were contacts, 18 were people who took the initiative to get tested, one was tested at a general hospital, while two were tested via rapid test at private labs.
Cyprus hospitals are currently treating 76 coronavirus patients, 22 of which are in critical condition.
22 patients are in the Famagusta general hospital, two of which are in the ICU. The Nicosia general hospital is also treating 25 patients, 17 of which are in the ICU. 28 more coronavirus patients are at the Limassol general hospital where three are in the ICU, while one is at the Makario hospital in Nicosia.
