Giorgos Erotokritos was born in Lampousa (Lapithos), Kyrenia, in 1948, and passed away on August 27, 2013. After completing his secondary education, he studied art in Athens at the Beaux Arts School and attended drawing courses in London, where he also studied woodcarving and restoration. In 1980, he returned to Cyprus and settled in Limassol. Erotokritos held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad. His last exhibition took place at Gloria Gallery in March 2013, titled "Incomplete Circle." He passed away a few months later. Erotokritos' artwork is profoundly influenced by ancient Greek culture, as well as Byzantine and religious art and tradition. He typically painted on pieces of wood from old constructions, such as doors and windows. Often, the surfaces he painted on were decorated with old reliefs, which he emphasized by adding vibrant colors.

VASILIS SPERANTZAS, OIL ON WOOD, 20 X 30 CM
Vasilis Sperantzas was born in Athens. He studied painting and printmaking at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he also taught lithography from 1976 to 1988. Since 1988, he has resided in Greece. His works depict scenes from everyday life, often with a strong erotic and sensual character, with an emphasis on the plasticity of forms, especially the female figure. His art combines elements of Byzantine and folk art, as well as European artistic influences.
His paintings are featured in museums such as the National Gallery of Greece and the Averoff Gallery, as well as in private collections.
