Larnaca biker killed in weekend crash

Police still investigating an accident where a 28-year-old local biker was killed Saturday night in Aradippou

Police are still investigating the circumstances of a fatal accident over the weekend, where a local biker was killed in a road collision in Larnaca.

According to police, 28-year-old Panayiotis Loizides was killed in an accident on Saturday just before midnight, in Aradippou, Larnaca district. An official report said a 58-year-old local male was driving his vehicle on Gregori Afxentiou avenue when it collided with the motorbike at 11:50pm.

Loizides was rushed to the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital where doctors on duty pronounced him dead on arrival.

Officials did not share details including a description of the motorcycle or possible factors in the fatal accident, such as speed or use of helmet.

Police told Knews on Monday they were still investigating the accident.
