Lockboxes to expand to Finikoudes Beach as Part of Larnaca’s Coastal Improvement Plan.

The Municipality of Larnaca has installed 100 lockboxes at Mackenzie Beach in a bid to enhance visitor safety and improve beach infrastructure, officials announced this week.

The metal lockboxes, mounted on beach umbrellas, are available to the public for a rental fee of €2.50. The secure storage units are intended to help beachgoers safeguard personal belongings while swimming or relaxing along the coast.

Municipal officials said the initiative will expand in the coming days, with an additional 100 units set to be installed at nearby Finikoudes Beach.

The lockbox project is part of a broader municipal plan aimed at upgrading coastal services across Larnaca’s beaches, focusing on safety, convenience, and overall visitor satisfaction.
