Police in Pegeia called a 69-year-old man in over a nuisance complaint. By the time he left, officers had a new case on their hands, and it had everything to do with how he got there.
The man drove to the station at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday and parked in the police lot, police said. Once he was inside, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol and gave him a breath test.
The initial reading was 100 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath. A second test came back at 86 micrograms, still well above the legal limit, police said.
Officers arrested the man on suspicion of drink-driving. He was expected to appear in court Thursday.
