A man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head at a car repair shop outside the Ormideia community, authorities reported. His identity has not yet been determined.

The British Bases Police, in collaboration with the Republic of Cyprus Police, are investigating the murder. The incident was reported around 11 p.m. last night.

Upon arrival, British Bases Police officers discovered the body of the man with a fatal gunshot wound. The police are currently searching for the owner of the garage in connection with the case.

The British Bases Dhekelia Police are leading the investigation. The Cyprus Police are on standby to provide assistance if requested.

"Cyprus Police are ready to respond to any assistance requested by the British Bases," said police spokesman Christos Andreou. "The Bases Police already have details of the killing, and if assistance is needed, it will be provided."

Authorities were alerted late last night following reports of a shooting in the Ormidea area. A strong police presence remains at the scene, which has been cordoned off as officers gather evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.
