The man was initially rushed to Limassol General Hospital on Sunday, following a heart attack due to a drug overdose.

As the remand orders expire Friday, the suspects could be set free but police expect to re-arrest them on the spot on new charges

He was then transferred to Nicosia General due to his critical condition, where he remained in a coma and took his last breath on Thursday afternoon.

His 18th birthday was going to be Friday.

Police arrested a 25-year-old Syrian national on Wednesday who is believed to have supplied the drugs to the 18-year-old.

On Wednesday, two other Syrians aged 28 and 39 were remanded into custody in connection with the case, following their arrest on Monday.

But as the remand orders are expiring Friday, the suspects could be set free but police expect to re-arrest them on the spot on new charges.

Cops conducted a raid Monday evening at a cafeteria in Trachoni, where they spotted the 28-year-old who matched the description given to police.

He had in his possession 8.5 grams of cannabis, 9 grams of mdma capsules also known as “Molly”, 19.5 grams of cannabis resin known as hashish, according to police, who also confiscated a precision digital scale.
