Everything is set for the glamorous “Bank of Cyprus Man of the Year Awards” ceremony taking place tonight, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at The Royal Hall in Nicosia.
Now in its 24th year, Cyprus’ leading awards institution promises an evening filled with emotion, celebration, and recognition of excellence.
Held under the motto “ἀρετή ἐπιστήμη ἐστίν” — “Virtue is knowledge” — this year’s event honors individuals who have stood out for their work, integrity, vision and contribution to society.
The awards celebrate men who serve as role models, whether in science, the arts, sports or the business world. At the heart of the institution is the recognition not only of achievement, but also of character, values and contribution to society.
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
* MANAGER / ENTREPRENEUR by Cablenet
* SCIENTIST
* CREATION / CULTURE
* ATHLETE
* INTERNATIONAL CYPRIOT
* UNIVERSITY OF NICOSIA EXCELLENCE AWARD
* GREEK OF THE YEAR
* LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT Award in memory of Christos Iacovides
* HONORARY AWARD
* MAN OF THE YEAR
Among those expected to attend are President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, House President Annita Demetriou, political figures, and personalities from the business and entertainment worlds.
Special guests will also include legendary Greek basketball figure Panagiotis Giannakis, actor and screenwriter Giorgos Kapoutzidis and media personality Elias Psinakis.
The evening’s entertainment will feature popular Greek singer Elli Kokkinou, who is set to deliver a special live performance expected to add even more energy and glamour to the event.
Organizers say tonight’s ceremony is once again expected to become a major social and cultural highlight, shining a spotlight on people whose work and life journey continue to inspire society.
The Bank of Cyprus Man of the Year Awards would not have achieved such success and public recognition without the support of its sponsors and partners alongside MAN magazine.
The event is held with the support of Bank of Cyprus.
