Man dies after Dhekelia car rollover

Greek Cypriot driver succumbs to his injuries after his car overturned inside British Bases

A man died in a Larnaca hospital on Thursday after his car rolled over early morning in Dhekelia inside the British Bases.

According to local media, a 27-year-old described as a Greek Cypriot male was driving his vehicle alone in the early hours on Thursday from Dasaki Achnas towards Avgorou.

Suddenly, around 3am, he reportedly lost control of the steering wheel and his car veered off towards an empty field where it rolled over.

The man was rushed to the Emergency Room at Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors immediately hooked him up to life support due to severe head injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
