A violent incident in Limassol has left a 39-year-old man seriously injured, while police have arrested a 29-year-old suspect in connection with the case.
According to police, the assault took place on the evening of Thursday, February 5, 2026. Authorities were alerted at around 7:00 p.m. after receiving reports of an injured person on a street in Limassol. Officers arriving at the scene located two men, aged 23 and 41, who described what had happened shortly before.
The two men told investigators that their landlord had come to the home where they live and allegedly threatened them, demanding that they move out. A short time later, he reportedly returned accompanied by several other individuals whose faces were covered.
The tenants, along with their 39-year-old roommate, attempted to escape. However, the group allegedly pursued them, caught up with the 39-year-old and the 41-year-old, and attacked them.
The 39-year-old was taken by ambulance to a private hospital in Limassol, where he remains hospitalized with serious injuries, including a head wound, a skull fracture, and multiple rib injuries.
After the incident, the victims said they returned to the residence and discovered that €3,000 in cash was missing.
Following investigative work, police obtained evidence against a 29-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday under a court-issued warrant. He is being held in custody as inquiries continue.
The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is continuing to investigate the case.
