Mild and windy start to the week

Low chances of rain first half of week, with wind, dust, and temperature fluctuations

A low pressure system is affecting the area over Cyprus with low chances of showers in parts of the island along with strong winds in the late morning.

Monday skies will be partly cloudy with increasing clouds scattered throughout the day. Chances of morning showers remain low afefecting parts in the northwest but will increase later in the day, mainly in the south and southeast.

Strong winds are expected later in the day with temperature highs reaching 21 degrees Celsius inland, in the south, and east, around 19 along the western and northern corridors, while it will be 14 degrees high up in the mountains.

Evening skies will mostly cloudy with mid-range and high altitude clouds, Temperature lows will drop down to 7 degrees in the interior, 9 in the south and east, around 10 in the north and out west, while it will be 3 degrees high up in the mountains where frost is expected to form overnight.

Scattered clouds and chances of light rain are expected on and off Tuesday, when moderate air pollution levels could also rise further according to weather officials.

Wednesday temperatures will climb only slightly in all parts except in the west where levels will rise normally, with overall temperatures reaching above normal averages for this time of the year.

Thursday levels will drop back down out west with no change expected elsewhere.
