The Limassol-Paphos motorway has been closed in the direction of Paphos following a collision involving a passing vehicle and a road marking vehicle near Paramali.
The crash happened at around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at a section of the motorway where roadworks were underway. According to police, a driver travelling through the area collided with the roadworks vehicle, prompting authorities to close the motorway while the scene is cleared and investigations are carried out.
Traffic heading towards Paphos is being diverted through the Paramali exit onto the old Limassol-Paphos road. Drivers can re-enter the motorway through the Avdimou or Pissouri entrances.
Police officers are currently at the scene assisting motorists, managing traffic flow and carrying out examinations to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Drivers using the area are being urged to slow down, keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and follow the instructions of police officers on site.
Authorities are advising motorists to expect delays, particularly during peak travel hours, as crews work to reopen the motorway.
