New cameras in Limassol to target traffic violations

Intersection innovation: Limassol boosts safety with camera expansion

Newsroom

Starting from next Monday, April 29, 2024, the traffic light monitoring system will expand across the Limassol district, introducing five fixed cameras at two additional locations. This initiative aims to further decrease serious and fatal road accidents.

Specifically, three cameras have been set up at the junction of King Georgiou A' and Christiakis Kranou avenues. These cameras will monitor violations such as running red lights, crossing the white line, and exceeding the speed limit. Additionally, two more cameras will oversee similar infractions at the intersection of Archbishop Macariou II and 28 October avenues.

It's worth mentioning that mobile cameras are already in use for speed enforcement in the Limassol district. Furthermore, fixed cameras are operational at the following locations:

- Intersection of Ave. Fr. Roosevelt and Ave. Omonia
- Intersection of Ave. Nikos Pattichi and Spyrou Kyprianou
- Intersection of 28th October Avenue and Iakovos Tombazis
- Intersection of Ave. Arch. Makarios C' and Ave. Agia Zoni
- Junction of Ave. Amathus opposite Hotel Arsinoe
- Confluence of Ave. Amathus and Ariadne Street
- Vertical Port Road, K. Polemidia
