Not quite summer, but it’s getting there

A quiet morning, a beautiful view, and a forecast full of warm days and cool nights.

Newsroom

It’s only Tuesday, and somehow this week already feels longer than it should. It’s that in-between season. Not quite spring, not quite summer, but at least the mornings are cool, the nights are chill, and we’ve got those little things to be grateful for. While writing this forecast, I was lucky enough to catch a stunning view. Yup, that headline photo? That was my morning, and it was a nice reminder of how beautiful nature can be when you stop for a second and take it in.

So, what’s the weather up to? A weak low-pressure system is hanging around, which means today will be mostly clear. But by the afternoon, some local cloud cover is expected, especially over the mountains. That could lead to a few isolated showers or even a quick thunderstorm here and there. Winds will come from the southwest to northwest, staying light to moderate, around 3 to 4 Beaufort. Down south along the coast, the breeze might pick up and get a bit stronger, around 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough, with choppier spots along the southern coast.

Temperatures are on the rise. Inland areas will warm up to around 31°C. On the western coast, it’ll be closer to 27°C, and along the rest of the coast, expect around 29°C. If you’re up in the mountains, it’ll stay cooler, about 20°C.

Tonight, the skies stay mostly clear. Winds will shift a bit more from the northwest, still light to moderate. The sea will remain slightly rough. Overnight, temperatures will dip to around 18°C inland, about 20°C along the coasts, and down to 13°C in the higher mountain areas.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, it’s all about sunshine. The weather stays mostly clear, and temperatures are going to keep climbing, significantly, in fact, rising well above what we usually expect for this time of year.

So yeah, it may be a long week already, but at least the forecast gives us something to enjoy.
