Over 200 illegal migrants exit Cyprus in forced repatriation drive

Police-led crackdown on illegal immigration sees 8,385 deportations as joint FRONTEX operations intensify

In the past week (11-17/11/2023), a total of 202 individuals, residing illegally in Cyprus, were repatriated as part of ongoing efforts by the Police to facilitate the return of third-country nationals to their countries of origin.

Simultaneously, a joint FRONTEX forced return flight was executed during the week, marking Cyprus's 12th participation in such operations this year. The 13th joint repatriation and deportation operation, involving Cyprus, is scheduled for November 25, 2023.

Since the beginning of the year, a cumulative total of 8,385 individuals illegally residing in Cyprus have been deported, reflecting the sustained efforts of the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service to maximize the number of returns.
