Police stepped up security measures across urban areas over the Christmas period, carrying out overnight operations aimed at maintaining public safety and order.

Throughout the night, officers were deployed at major roadways and key locations, with a focus on neighborhoods identified as having higher crime activity. The operation combined increased patrols, targeted inspections, and coordinated interventions, supported by intelligence shared with other relevant authorities to prevent and address unlawful behavior.

In total, more than 820 checks were conducted. These resulted in 102 traffic violations, including 33 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, six drivers tested positive during preliminary roadside drug screenings.

As part of investigations into traffic-related offenses, police impounded six vehicles. Four individuals were also taken into custody in connection with various offenses, including vehicle theft, illegal possession of a knife, and unpaid fine warrants.

According to police, these actions are part of an ongoing, wide-ranging strategy to combat crime nationwide, relying on heightened police visibility, focused enforcement efforts, and rapid operational response across all districts.
