Press Release
The Green Agenda Cyprus Summit 2025 is gearing up to support and strengthen the country’s national strategy for a green transition. Taking place on May 19 at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia, this year’s Sustainable Development Conference aims to position Cyprus as a model of ecological responsibility and sustainable growth—playing a key role in shaping a more environmentally conscious future.
Three prominent figures—Pavlos Photiades, Alexandros Charalambides, and Constantinos Chatzigeorgiou—will take the stage as speakers at this year’s summit, each bringing unique expertise and insights to the table.
Business with a Green Conscience
Pavlos Photiades will participate in the panel discussion “Green Transition or Greenwashing? The Top CEOs Take.” A Harvard and INSEAD graduate, Photiades is the managing director of Photos Photiades Breweries and the Photos Photiades Group, one of the largest private business groups in Cyprus and Greece. He’s held leadership roles in various organizations, including president of the Brewers of Europe, and currently serves on the executive committee of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB).
Rethinking Energy, One Drop at a Time
Dr. Alexandros Charalambides will moderate a panel titled “Every Drop Counts. Twice.” An associate professor at the Cyprus University of Technology, he specializes in predicting solar energy production and exploring how innovation and entrepreneurship can accelerate decarbonization. A Fulbright Scholar with a PhD from Imperial College London, Charalambides is also the founder of Chrysalis LEAP, Cyprus' first cleantech accelerator.
Finance Meets Sustainability
Constantinos Chatzigeorgiou will join the panel “Green Transition, Funding, and Risk Management.” With more than 25 years of international experience in financial services and consulting, Chatzigeorgiou leads Alpha Bank’s sustainability initiatives. He holds advanced degrees in Geographic Information Systems and Change Management from INSEAD and has a strong background in helping organizations navigate complex transformations.
