Police crackdown nets over €141K in extrajudicial fine collections

Law enforcement operations in Paphos and Nicosia districts yield successful results in executing outstanding warrants and recovering substantial sums

In separate operations, the Paphos and Nicosia Police Departments successfully executed multiple outstanding fine warrants, collecting significant sums.

On Tuesday, the Warrant Recovery Unit of the Paphos Police Department concluded an operation in the Paphos district, executing 86 fine warrants and collecting €12,690. Pafos Assistant Police Operations Director Michael Nicolaou confirmed the success of the campaign, emphasizing that such operations will be conducted regularly.

Simultaneously, the Warrant Execution Unit of the Nicosia Police Directorate executed 168 unexecuted fine warrants, resulting in the collection of a substantial €129,119.91. The warrants covered diverse debts, including fines for traffic offenses, private criminal cases, Social Security, City Hall dues, and other outstanding payments.

These strategic campaigns demonstrate the authorities' commitment to enforcing legal obligations and ensuring the collection of overdue fines. The police affirmed their intention to continue such operations periodically.
