Another police officer is in handcuffs for corruption, announced the authorities. According to the statement, the Police Internal Audit Agency (PIA) is investigating a member of the Police force for the following offenses, including:Unlawful seizure of property
- Bribing of a public official
- Theft from a public official
- Abuse of power
- Corruption of a public official
- Offences under the Prevention of Combating Money Laundering Act
The said member of the Police was arrested by court order on 21/01/2025 at 18:15, in connection with the above offenses under investigation.
Investigations are ongoing by the CID.
