Good morning! It’s Thursday, January 23, 2025, and it looks like Cyprus is still soaking in the remnants of that mild low pressure. Grab your umbrella because those rains from yesterday are sticking around.
Today’s weather will be mostly cloudy, with local showers making an appearance here and there. If you’re along the coast, keep an eye out for isolated storms—especially in the afternoon. Up in the Troodos peaks, it’s a winter wonderland-in-the-making with sleet or even snow. Winds are doing their thing, blowing from the northeast to southeast at a gentle 3 Beaufort, picking up slightly to a moderate 4 on windward spots. The sea? Just a tad choppy, nothing too wild. Temperatures are hitting 16°C inland, a warmer 18°C on the coast, and a chilly 7°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, things will calm down a bit, turning partly cloudy with the possibility of some stray showers near the coast. Winds stay light to moderate from the northeast to southeast, and the sea remains a little rough. Expect cooler temperatures overnight—6°C inland, 12°C on the east coast, 10°C elsewhere along the coast, and a frosty 1°C in the higher mountains, where frost will likely put in an appearance.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday are shaping up to be partly cloudy with spotty rain, especially in the west and mountainous areas. Troodos might see a bit more snow or sleet for those peak-hikers out there. By late Saturday and into Sunday, the rain clouds are back in force with local showers and isolated storms.
Temperatures will hold steady, sticking close to the seasonal average. If you’re heading up to Troodos, the snow depth currently measures a modest 2 centimeters—but hey, it’s snow nonetheless!
Stay cozy and enjoy the weather, wherever you are.
