Police are investigating a string of incidents in the coastal area of Amathus after several women reported being harassed and attacked while walking nearby.

According to authorities, three complaints have been filed at the Germasogeia Police Station, involving assault, indecent acts, and attempted indecent acts. The alleged incidents took place between October 16 and 19.

Victims told police that unknown men approached them and tried to touch or hug them without their consent.

One case, which drew public attention after being shared on social media, involved a woman who said two men attacked her, one pushing her while the other allegedly tried to cover her mouth with a handkerchief. The woman managed to fight back and escape as the suspects fled.

The women described the suspects as foreigners, reportedly of Syrian origin. Police say the cases are under investigation, and patrols in the area will be increased to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety.
