Police sweep at Nicosia Race Club nets fines and uncovers possible labor violations

Seven outstanding warrants executed and €1,179 collected during coordinated multi-unit operation.

A police operation unfolded on Friday morning at the Nicosia Race Club, forming part of an ongoing campaign to curb serious and organized crime in the capital.

During the sweep, officers inspected various outdoor areas and buildings within the race club grounds and carried out checks on 42 individuals. The operation led to the execution of seven outstanding fine warrants, resulting in the collection of €1,179.

Officials from the Ministry of Labor also issued two written notices after identifying possible cases of undeclared employment.

The large-scale effort brought together units from the Nicosia CID, the Crime Prevention Unit, the Warrant Execution Squad, the Drug Enforcement Service, the Aliens and Immigration Unit, the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad, and inspectors from the Labour Ministry.

The Nicosia CID continues to investigate the findings from the operation.
