Protein cookies recalled in Cyprus over undeclared allergen

Manufacturer issues voluntary recall after labeling violation.

Newsroom

The Ministry of Health has announced a recall of certain protein cookies after undeclared gluten was found in the product, posing a potential risk to individuals with gluten intolerance, allergies or celiac disease.

The Health Services were alerted through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) and the International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN). The manufacturer confirmed that the following product contains wheat, a source of gluten, which was not listed on the ingredient label as required by food labeling laws:

  • Product Name: Myprotein Gooey Filled Cookie – Double Chocolate & Caramel

  • Packaging: 75g (individual) and 12 x 75g (multipack)

  • Best Before Dates: June 17, 2025, through July 16, 2026

The manufacturer has voluntarily recalled the affected products due to the labeling error.

Health officials warn that people with gluten allergies, intolerance or celiac disease should not consume the cookies. Consumers are advised to return any purchased products to the point of sale.
