Newsroom

A dead dog with apparent burn injuries was discovered Friday morning in the village of Tersefanou, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

Police said they received a report around 11:30 a.m. about the dog's body. Officers from the Kiti Police Station responded to the scene, where they found the dog with visible burn marks, apparently caused by fire. Nearby, about ten meters from the body, officers also noted a patch of scorched dry vegetation.

The animal was collected and taken to the Veterinary Services, where a necropsy will be conducted in the coming days to determine the exact cause of death.

The Kiti Police Station is continuing its investigation.
