Shots fired during car chase in Larnaca

Law enforcement engages in gunfire as a 35-year-old woman, wanted for various crimes, escapes police pursuit in Livadia

In the early hours this morning, gunfire erupted as law enforcement engaged a 35-year-old woman from Larnaca wanted in connection with various criminal cases. The incident occurred in Livadia, within the Larnaca district.

According to Spyros Chrysostomou, the press spokesman for the Larnaca Police Directorate, the woman, sought for multiple offenses with pending arrest warrants, was observed at approximately 2 am in Livadia Municipality. She was driving a vehicle lacking registration plates at the time.

Chrysostomou stated, "Upon noticing police presence, the woman intentionally collided with the law enforcement vehicle. In response, officers resorted to discharging their service weapons, targeting the vehicle's tires. Despite these measures, the woman managed to escape the scene, speeding away recklessly. As of 9 am, her whereabouts remain unknown."

The Oroklini Police Station is currently investigating the incident.
