Cyprus is preparing for isolated showers and the possibility of thunderstorms on Monday (09/10), primarily in the northern regions, mountainous areas, and the interior, according to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Service.
Temperatures are expected to rise to 31 degrees Celsius in the interior, around 28 degrees along the coast, and approximately 20 degrees in the higher mountainous regions.
The day is expected to start with partial cloud cover, occasionally becoming mostly cloudy as the day progresses. In the afternoon, isolated showers are anticipated, with the potential for isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the mountainous areas, northern regions, and the interior.
Winds are set to blow primarily from the southwest to northwest, starting off weak at 3 on the Beaufort scale and gradually increasing to light to moderate, reaching 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. Sea conditions will range from calm to slightly rough.
Tonight, the skies will remain partly cloudy with winds mainly coming from the northwest to northeast, maintaining a weak intensity at 3 on the Beaufort scale. The sea is expected to stay calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will take a dip, with readings dropping to 19 degrees Celsius in the interior, around 20 degrees along the coast, and 11 degrees in the higher mountainous regions.
Tuesday and Wednesday may see sporadic local cloud cover, potentially leading to isolated showers or even thunderstorms in the afternoon. These conditions are expected primarily in the mountainous areas, northern regions, and the eastern half of the island.
Thursday is forecasted to be mainly clear, though localized increased cloudiness is anticipated in the afternoon and early evening.
While the weather may bring some variability, significant temperature changes are not expected, and conditions should remain in line with the average climatic values for the region.
