The UN Secretary General's special envoy Jane Holl Lute held separate meetings on Friday morning as efforts continue to formulate the terms of reference, that will pave the way for the resumption of the Cyprus talks.
Lute who arrived to the island on Saturday held separate meetings every day since Sunday with the two leaders.
Meanwhile, a diplomatic source told CNA earlier today that the complication at the negotiations that are taking place with a view to reach a conclusion on the terms of reference was not related to the natural gas issue, but had to do with aspects of the Cyprus problem.
In statements after Lute's meeting with Anastasiades on Thursday, Government Spokesman, Prodromos Prodromou said that “we have started the effort to formulate the terms of reference and we intend to finish this off."
“As the President said, there has been an issue, a small obstacle, but negotiations continue,” he added.
