Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting following a government meeting, according to a report by the news agency TASR on Wednesday. Parliament's vice-chairman Lubos Blaha confirmed to TASR that Fico was shot and injured.
A Reuters witness reported hearing several shots and witnessing a man being detained by police. Security officials were seen pushing someone into a car before driving off, as described by the Reuters witness. At the time of the incident, the government office was unavailable for immediate comment.
