Spring teases with a bit of sunshine, a bit of cloud and some mystery fog

Cyprus weather brings sunshine, rising temperatures, and just enough clouds to keep us on our toes.

If Cyprus’ weather had a personality today, it would be that friend who says they’ll "pop by for a coffee" and then lingers unpredictably. We’re looking at mostly clear skies—eventually. First, though, we need to wait for the morning fog and low clouds to pack up and leave. They’re taking their time, but they’ll move along soon enough.

By midday, expect a few dramatic clouds, particularly over the mountains, where they might squeeze out an isolated raindrop or two—just enough to make you wonder if you imagined it. Winds are playing it cool, starting off as a light, indecisive breeze before deciding to go full “sea mode” at a mellow 3 Beaufort. Meanwhile, the sea itself is on its best behavior, remaining calm to just slightly restless, like a cat that’s almost—but not quite—ready for a nap.

Temperature-wise, it’s a pleasant kind of warm. Inland areas will reach a comfy 24°C, with coastal spots hanging around 21-22°C. Up in the mountains, it’s still sweater weather at 14°C, so don’t ditch the layers just yet.

Tonight, the mystery fog makes a comeback. Clear skies will dominate at first, but by the wee hours, inland and eastern areas might start feeling like a scene from a detective movie—dimly lit, slightly eerie, and perfect for misplaced car keys. Winds will shift to a light downslope breeze, and the sea will stay mostly chill, barely stirring. Temperatures will dip to 8°C inland, 10°C on the coast, and a brisk 5°C in the higher mountains—just enough to remind us that it’s still technically March.

Looking ahead, Wednesday through Friday bring a whole lot of sunshine, with only a few high clouds drifting through on Thursday to keep things interesting. And the best part? Temperatures are climbing steadily, heading well above seasonal averages. So, if you’ve been itching to dig out the summer wardrobe, go ahead—but keep a jacket handy. Cyprus weather loves a good plot twist.
