Teen shot with airgun for 'ruining’ bonfire party

18-year-old attacked while sitting in his car; police release photos of suspects

Police are investigating an attack on an 18-year-old in Limassol, where he was beaten and shot with an airgun allegedly because the suspects feared he would "ruin" their bonfire party. Two people, aged 18 and 19, have been arrested, while authorities are searching for seven more individuals.

According to the victim’s statement, the attack happened on Saturday, March 15, around 4:00 p.m. while he was sitting in his parked car. A group of individuals approached him, physically assaulted him, and one of them fired an airgun, causing minor injuries.

The 18-year-old was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he was treated for a hematoma on his lips and abrasions on his hand and abdomen before being discharged.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, gathering evidence and taking statements to determine the exact circumstances of the attack.

The police have appealed to the public for information and released photos of the wanted individuals. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Limassol Police Station at 25-805187, the Citizen’s Hotline at 1460, or their nearest police station.

The suspects face multiple charges, including illegal transportation, possession and use of a firearm, conspiracy to commit a felony, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault, and malicious damage.
