Three coronavirus patients who were receiving treatment at the Famagusta general hospital died late on Monday night.
According to the health ministry on Tuesday, the three coronavirus fatalities involved two women, aged 86 and 80, who both suffered from underlying health conditions but whose death was fully attributed to the virus, and a 62-year-old man with underlying conditions but whose death was attributed to pulmonary embolism.
The deaths raised total fatalities fully attributed to coronavirus in the Republic of Cyprus to 29, including 18 men and 11 women of an average age of 74.
Currently, the Famagusta general hospital – the island’s designated coronavirus healthcare facility – is currently treating 63 coronavirus patients, while a number of patients are expected to be discharged on Tuesday after repeated negative coronavirus tests.
