Well, look at us. Tuesday has arrived, and Cyprus is still refusing to fully commit to autumn. The sunshine is hanging around, the temperatures are behaving themselves a little more, and the mountains are once again preparing their afternoon shower routine.
Today will be mainly clear at first, but cloud cover will gradually increase at times, bringing isolated showers during the afternoon. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, mainly in the mountains, inland and northern areas, while the western coast could also see some isolated light rain. So, if you were hoping for a completely predictable sunny Tuesday, the weather has politely declined.
Winds will start southeast to southwest and locally variable in the morning, remaining light before gradually becoming mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate and locally moderate along windward coasts. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will reach around 33°C inland, 29°C on the west coast, 31°C on the remaining coasts and 23°C in the highest mountains. Still warm, certainly, but at least Cyprus is slowly taking its foot off the summer accelerator.
Tonight will be mainly clear, although increased cloud will appear at times.Winds will initially remain southwesterly to northwesterly, light and occasionally moderate, before gradually becoming katabatic and light. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
And what about the rest of the week?
Wednesday and Thursday will keep the afternoon cloud-and-shower routine going, with isolated showers possible mainly in the mountains and eastern areas. An isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out on Wednesday, so the mountains may once again decide to add a little drama to the forecast. By Friday, the weather should settle back into mainly clear skies. As for temperatures, there is no major plot twist coming. They are expected to remain fairly steady through Friday, staying close to the average climatic values for this time of year.
So, Tuesday is giving us sunshine, a few clouds, a possible mountain shower and just enough uncertainty to keep things interesting. Honestly, Cyprus, we can work with that.
