Soak up the sun today before the cold front crashes the party.

Newsroom

Mother Nature is keeping us on our toes this week.

Today is starting off with a "mostly clear" vibe, but don't get too comfortable. By the afternoon, some moody clouds are expected to gather, mainly over the mountains, for a quick, isolated shower. The wind will be a bit of a tease, starting as a gentle breeze before picking up some real attitude (up to 5 Beaufort) along the southern coasts. The temperature will hit a high of 19°C inland. It’s actually quite a lovely day to be out, provided you aren't standing on a wind-whipped beach.

Tonight stays mostly clear for the city dwellers, though our friends in the west should prepare for things to get a bit "partly cloudy" as the evening wears on. The sea is also getting a bit restless, turning rough in some spots, so maybe save the boat trip for another time.

As we look toward tomorrow, Wednesday is bringing a more "mainly cloudy" mood with local rains, particularly for the western half of the island. But the real plot twist happens on Thursday. A cold air mass is moving in to remind us that winter isn't quite finished with us yet. Temperatures are set to drop noticeably, and we might even see some sleet or snow dancing on the highest peaks of Troodos. Speaking of snow, Chionistra is currently sporting a very modest 1 cm, barely enough for a snowball, but we'll take it!
